GCA's 2017 Homecoming activities kicked off with the first ever alumni volleyball game. The game was fun for players and spectators alike and set the tone for an exciting night of activities. Seventeen alumni from the Classes of 1990 through 2015 then dusted off their basketball shoes to play in the annual alumni basketball game. The game was a nail biter and went into overtime with a final score of 87-84.
Prior to the start of the boys Varsity Basketball game, the 2017 Homecoming court was announced. GCA Collegiate students had previously nominated representatives from each class to the court. Court members shared testimony and speeches during Collegiate Chapel, after which the student body voted for one of the young ladies to represent the Collegiate Academy as 2017 Homecoming Queen. At half-time, Dr. White announced the 2017 Homecoming Queen as Senior Catie Prevost and the 2017 Maid of Honor as Senior Bailey Riddick. The winner of Homecoming Spirit Week Battle of the Classes was also announced as the Senior Class.
The Varsity Boys Basketball team defeated United Sports Academy, 89-46, to a packed house full of GCA students, alumni, and community members.
